With one of the country’s most extensive real estate portfolios – from train stations to retail spaces and residential properties – SBB Real Estate faced a major challenge: migrating over 545,000 objects from SAP R/3 and external systems to SAP S/4HANA. This ambitious project demanded strict standards in data accuracy, consistency, and performance.
The key to success: the COS 33 solutions
Initial situation
Over the years, the SAP R/3 environment had accumulated complicated structures and datasets. The transition to SAP S/4HANA was not just a technical upgrade but a full consolidation of real estate data into RE-FX. The challenge: migrate 300,000 objects from R/3 and integrate another 245,000 from external systems, all while ensuring transparency and minimizing manual work.

At the heart of the migration, the CS 340 Cockpit proved decisive. It ensured that over 300,000 objects from SAP R/3 were transferred to S/4HANA in a structured, transparent, and audit-proof way. With its simulation, transformation, and logging features, every step of the journey was controlled and traceable:
CS 305 - Mass processing of RE-FX master data
With the CS 305 solution, approximately 245,000 objects from third-party systems were recreated in SAP RE-FX within a short time. Standardized templates and integrated upload functions ensured fast, consistent, and reliable data processing.
